The Quodlibet heard at the end of the video is of course the finale of the Goldberg Variations, whose comedy benefits from the sung texts (which are not included in the published keyboard Variations).
Yes - I read about this on the Netherlands Bach page. Their artists chose to end with the Goldberg, since Bach left 524 unfinished.
It’s still a surprising piece on the whole for me!
Me too, very opera buffa as you say -- from the guy who never wrote an opera (but did dabble in the genre occasionally in some cantatas).
