I enjoy the way that you write about music. My own hallway is sickeningly long, reaching all the way back to…David Cassidy. I was only 4, but I had a very indulgent mother.
Small world moment was watching a Beato video and my wife (who worked in NY for Epic Records as a talent scout) said "oh, Rick Beato?! He was my fav producer back in the day...I've hung out in his studio with some of my artists." Gotta love it.
Keep up the fantastic Substack! Writing like yours is what makes the internet awesome.

Thanks Marina.
If it took a TV dreamboat to open the door, it’s all been worth it.
Thanks for sharing your personal journey. Thinking a lot about my own hallway now...
In the middle of Bach, a Rhapsody!
Here's to more interludes (plus the Bach year, of course)! Love the perspective on where you're coming from with this project.
Rick Beato's interview with Brad Mehldau is fabulous and worth watching in its entirety if you haven't seen it already. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oT7O-ujYoo
Thanks Dakota! I agree that the Beato interview is fantastic and there’s some Bach in there too.
Ah, excellent, you know the interview!

Thanks again. I labored over this one a while — appreciate the nice words.
Rick seems like a good guy, and he’s totally found his calling with his YouTube channel
